I. Call to  Order
The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Sam Barnes at 5:12P.M.

IV. Comments from the Public- none

V. Approval of Minutes
A Motion was made by P. Viggiano to approve the minutes of November 9, 2010.  This motion was seconded by R. Allen.  No Discussion.  The motion was carried 5-0-1.  Sam Barnes abstained.
VI. Chairman’s Comments
Chairman Barnes introduced Jean Marie Harvey as the new clerk.  
VII. Director’s Reports
Social Services/Holiday Giving – This year there are 192 holiday giving requests as part of the holiday giving program with the SS, OSPD and YFS.  This number is up from 188 last year.  Also, up this year is the Warm the Children requests up from 56 last year to 80 this year.  SSC has been organizing the volunteer effort with students from OSMS, OSHS and a local Girl Scout troop.  Public exposure has increased due to greater print, internet and media use.  WTNH filmed a short segment featuring Sue Consoli of Social Services.
Response to Emergencies – Ms. McNeil has been asked to develop a protocol for Social Services and YFS for response to calls from OSPD for people in need of shelter.
Interns/School Systems – Working with school administrators to assess needs of staff and students to best utilize interns.  Positive reports received from school personnel with suggestions for improvement.
Filling Vacant Positions – Interviews are underway for the Youth Coordinator position.  Staff will continue to fill in until the position is filled.
Planning for Winter and Spring – Strategic planning for the next 6-12 months to ensure funding, staffing and community involvement.
HCHY Items – Family Events – HCHY planning movie night on December 17th and bowling on December 12th.  The participants of the “Wrap the Van” challenge will be recognized at the free pasta dinner included on movie night.
Grandparents Group – needs assessment and community Response – scheduled for December 14th at the Acton Public Library.  A good response has been received with input from the schools regarding their awareness of families headed by grandparents.

VIII. Old Business
Kate Hanratty attended the “Christmas is for Kids” benefit at Otter Cove Restaurant.  She said it was a great turnout.

A Motion to adjourn was made at 5:38P.M. by K. Hanratty.  It was seconded by P. Viggiano and carried unanimously.

The next regularly scheduled meeting will be on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at 5:00P.M.at the Pasbeshauke Pavilion at Saybrook Point Park, 155 College Street Extension, Old Saybrook, Connecticut.
